Hivos and RSS
Hivos and RSS
RSS is a standard way of text lay-out. The advantage is that a computer programme can interpret the content and lay-out of different texts, making it possible to separate the title, link and the text itself.
What do I need to get RSS?
The most common way of using RSS are the so-called RSS-readers. These readers come in many different forms and shapes and can be used for all kinds of platforms (Mac, Windows and Linux). They collect content and present an overview of that content on the web. These programmes also give out signals when new content appears on distinctive places on the web.
The most commonly used RSS-readers are:
- Feedreader (Windows; open source)
- RSSReader (Windows; free of charge)
- AmphetaDesk (Linux, Mac, Windows; open source)
