Open Space and opening Photo exposition ‘A year in Iran’
15.45 – 17.00 30th of September
After the plenary and parallel session the conference invites you to design the agenda of the Open Space session. Here you can suggest any topic within the framework of knowledge and change to discuss with peers. We have six slots available. First come, first serve. Parallel to the Open Space there will be an opening of the foto exposition ‘A year in Iran: Change has not come to an end.’
A Year in Iran highlights examples of changes in Iranian society through the lens of the contested 2009 presidential election. It uses graphic panels that tell the story with images, quotes, and text. The aim is to engage the viewer with the information and to show some of the complexity that does not always come through from reading daily news. It is part of a larger project published under the title HOPE, VOTES & BULLETS: Talking to the Streets, A Year in Iran from the 2009 Election (September 2010). The exhibition and the publication are developed and produced by Kamran Ashtary and Tori Egherman. Hamid Tehrani is the third editor of the publication. The book will be launched during this session.
Afterwards around 19.00 there will be Food for Thought during dinner
