On the 23rd and 24th of November, the Hivos-ISS knowledge programme organizes a conference on 'mobilizing social justice; unlocking the potential for structural change'
The conference provides a platform for activists, civil society actors and researchers to engage in a critical debate on the role of civil society acstors in processes of social change in South Africa. Case studies include research on migrant mobilization, legal mobilization against privatization, civil society engagement with parliamentary processes and policing protest.You can find more information about the studies here. Regional contributors will present emerging findings on civic action for responsive governance in Zimbabwe and Zambia. The programme will bring together leading thinkers and practitioners in the field of civil society building in South Africa. More then 60 participants have already been registered.
