Civic Driven Change
Civic Driven Change
Implications for Policy and Practice
Civic Driven Change is an emerging framework for analysis and promotion of civic action for social change. Originating from a think tank of activists and academics in 2008, Civic Driven Change has attracted widespread international attention. But what exactly has it got on offer for practitioners and policy makers?
This question was central to a number of events and think-pieces, supported by the Development Policy Review Network. This synthesis paper brings together the main findings, conclusions and questions for follow up research. At a time, where civic actors in the Dutch development sector have been put on the defensive, Civic Driven Change possibly informs new intervention strategies and strengthens their hand in the debate to recalibrate the possibilties and impossibilities of civilateral aid.
